Summer Day Camps at FLCS strive towards seeing your child have fun while experiencing engaging activities throughout each summer week.
Our week-long themed camps are thoughtfully planned to include exciting, hands on opportunities, alongside intentional, project based learning. We do all this while providing a safe and wholesome environment.
Our facilities provide ample opportunities for children to experience multiple activities, including a full gymnasium, kitchen, library, playground and sports field. We offer state of the art technology featuring SmartBoards, multiple iPads and a full computer lab.
Every week children will spend some time swimming at the H20 centre, reading and researching at the Mission Library, spending time in the computer lab, cooking, gardening, experimenting with art, and engaging in creative and critical thinking activities.
Each week’s camp is offered for two age groups:
- Preschool Care (8:30am – 5:00pm)
Ages 3 – 5 years old: Onsite care only (preschool care will follow the weekly themes as much as possible) - Day Camps (7:30am – 5:00pm)
Grades 1 – 6 Students: Themed Weeks – Incorporates Field Trips

Themed programming is offered from 9:00am to 3:00pm Monday to Friday. Before and after programming care is available from 7:30am to 5:00pm. We are closed on STAT holidays.
Snacks and lunch are not provided by FLCS and must be supplied by the parents. FLCS is a nut-aware community – please do not provide food containing any nut products.
Register early – limited spaces are available. Refunds require 30 days written notice and will be subject to a 20% administration fee.
2013 Summer Day Camps
Around the World
Week #1: June 24 – 28
Take a virtual trip around the world as you experience the sights, sounds and tastes of different cultures. You will have fun exploring a variety of international games, activities, food and art!
Fitness Fun
Week #2: July 2 – 5
A fun filled week of go, go, go! Play hard while doing dance, sports and games! Day Camps will be closed on Monday, July 1st for the STAT holiday.
Van Gogh-ing Crazy
Week #3: July 8 – 12
Have fun learning about famous artists such as Van Gogh and Picasso. Create your own masterpieces using the techniques of the Masters.
Nifty Nature
Week #4: July 15 – 19
Explore our amazing Earth’s plants, animals and insects. Spend the week observing and learning all about the natural world around us. Discover through nature hikes and bug collecting. This week we will also be attending First Lutheran Church’s Vacation Bible School from 9am-12noon.
Creative Creations
Week #5: July 22 – 26
Let your creativity shine! Aspiring young artists will have fun learning about different techniques in drawing, painting, print making, mixed media and sculpture.
Techno Builders
Week #6: July 29 – August 2
Build, create and invent new things. Lego Mindstorms is one of the projects you will use to build with this week.
To Infinity and Beyond
Week #7 August 6 – 9
Have a blast as you experience a week of out-of-this-world fun, learning about space and creating different kinds of rockets! Day Camps will be closed on Monday, August 5th for the STAT holiday.
Extreme Team Challenge
Week #8 August 12 – 16
Collaboration, communication and cooperation! A fun week to build friendships and work together to overcome Minecraft challenges thrown your way.
Lights, Camera, Action
Week #9 August 19 – 23
Take a seat in the director’s chair as you create, film and edit your own movie using an iPad.
H2Oasis
Week #10 August 26 – 30
Dive in this week to learn all about the ocean as we go water crazy! Water creatures, water games, and a trip to the water park.
