Critical Thinking
We are the only elementary school in Kelowna embedding critical thinking challenges according to the TC2 model throughout our academic program. This is one of the ways we meet and exceed the BC Ministry of Education IRPs

Curriculum
Students receive instruction in the following subject areas:
- Language Arts (including reading, writing, and spelling)
- Mathematics
- Social Studies
- Science
- Christian Studies
- Physical Education
- Fine Arts (including Music, Drama and Art)
- French (Grades 3-7)
- Health and Career Education
- Computers
As a school of excellence and distinction founded in faith, First Lutheran Christian School meets educational outcomes set by the BC Ministry of Education by teaching all subjects through the lens of our Christian world-view.
First Lutheran takes part in all provincial standardized testing at Grades 4 and 7. Students from Grades 1 to 7 also take the Canadian Achievement Test each year.
